The "toes" were sort of a size estimation. And I figured out about the backpressure thing when we had the second solenoid hooked up to the end of the chamber (right next to our venturi nozzle) thats why i moved it back.

Okie dokey, im back lol. were using a venturi effect nipple to siphon air into the system AKA a ton of holes. Ive got pictures of the (now outdated) gas injection/ignition system. Heres how it goes from RIGHT to LEFT. <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/45850538@N08/4921949383/" title="0821180605 ...

Im not using a piston :( how about...hooking a HV (taser) to fire constantly....once the cannon fires, i release the propane and air into the chamber (pre mixed), and before the ball even starts moving (in theory) the mix will ignite boosting the golf ball out the barrel. How about that?

I cant suspend the reload time :( it uses the pressure of the gas not a servo or anything. The fuel:air mixture wont be a problem. Ill rig up my BASIC stamp to a Potentiometer to control the timing until it gets right. My only problem so far is purging the cylinder without shooting out a golf ball.

If i get a barrel from here (http://www.launchpotatoes.com/cart.php?act=cart) the compressed air may push the ball out the barrel :/ any ideas? Also, Ill probably use a BASIC stamp seeing as i SUCK with 555 timers (yes, ive worked with them before). However, the Solenoids are 12 volt and the basic s...

Ok, heres the new plan, ill have a tank of air attached to a regulator attached to a solenoid. The propane will be attached to a regulator and a solenoid also. The solenoids are attached to a T joint and the other end is attached to the cannon. Im fairly sure this should work.

The reason i say that, is MKII will be all steel pipe rated to god knows how many PSI as opposed to PVC. Do i need to use a pressure regulator on my project?
