Matty - cheers brah :P Artillery green is definitely the colour of choice! As for semi auto not 100% on that yet. but sliding a second T piece over the barrel with the bolt mechanism in it might have to be the go. Don't know how else i could do it without serious mods or a flat out rebuild. JSR - Ye...

If you mean fail as in will it work with that setup then maybe! It sure didn't work for my piston valve cannon, much to low in flow. Maybe you can get away with it on a smaller cannon. (like 1 inch bore) Very very much doubt the blowgun will blow up in your face haha, Most shops just turf them on th...

Well disappointingly my delrin never arrived so i didn't get the chance to redo the end cap. So i will have to order that elsewhere :( Though that's given me a chance to think things over and in my estimation it seems that a QDV without any kind of restriction on the other end (projectile, barrel et...

The bottom of the piston in a fridgepump is exposed. The higher the inputpressure, the higher the force on the bottom of the piston.( and the top too ofcourse!!) This means that the motor can compress the air to a higher level before it cuts out. Think of it as lifting a weight with a teeter-totter...

Okay, so there's a few decent quality fridge compressors coming my way soon for spudding purposes. I've read the threads here on the subject, but one question remains. Fair enough theoretically adding a small amount of pressure to the inlet of the fridge compressor will result in that x the compress...

My friend wants to make a "deiseling" cannon that uses two co ax chambers, with a pilot valve in the outer one firing a metal ring down the inner co ax chamber @ ~1000psi to compress and combust a mixture that will fire the projectile out via a burst disk. Sounds cool enough to at least attempt as ...

Cheers for the advice dudes ^^ Alrighty, Had a day off today so a few things got finished before the big testing weekend. Main job was to sort out that leaky QDV pilot valve. Those plastic taper thread end caps appear to be the most non airtight devices ever conceived, so a metal bung was needed to ...

Fantastic! Guessing its an SLS/SLA type 3d printer or something to that nature? :) It's easy to write 3d printers off as a fad of the hacker culture. But even considering the weakness of the final parts compared to extruded ones, my god they come in handy for pretty well everything :D Love my UP! pr...

Okay so wont get much time to tinker over the next week so here's a few design changes that will happen once a bit of time makes itself available. Need to go grab some more delrin and remake the end c...

Yeah i have one of the ebay HF tig/plasma cutter deals. It goes just as good as the old lincoln invertec touch tig, maybe even better cause of the High frequency start in all honesty. The plasma cutter is wicked handy too. Definitely recommend one (the model i got at least haha, you never know with ...

Cheers :) The tools the cannon was made with are certainly not out of the realms of most people. The lathe was $1200 aud and the welder was $400 off ebay. A little c2 lathe is only around $500 out this way and that would do most of you just fine. All was paid for by my first job making $10 an hour f...

That sucks man, have you looked on ebay for little c2 sieg lathes and such? Someone might import them. Maybe check out machinery auctions, Portugal had some pretty serious lathe makers in the day from what i read (at least 3 of them). Anyway back to work. Spent an hour on this QDV prototype. If it w...
