Re: Newport butane refill cans
Sounds like it's either propane, or not as pure as they claim it to be. Yes, it is propane. I searched for the MSDS of the Newport butane and it contains propane. http://www.e-hygienesystems.com/coshh/sheets/Butane%20Lighter%20Fuel%20250ml%202.pdf I tried filling the syringe for 3.2% mixture with t...

Newport butane refill cans
I bought a 250ml/139g Newport butane refill can. I measured with a syringe 9.5ml of butane for a ~3.2% mixture in my 290ml chamber combustion cannon (I measured the chamber volume using water and a syringe) and it did not fire. The cannon has a chamber fan so an equal mixture within the chamber is n...

Re: All Steel and Brass Ball Valve Gun
Looks nice. In the future, if you want to upgrade the ball valve get a quick exhaust valve. They are inexpensive and have one of the best opening times.

Re: Piston valve mini cannon
Thanks for the advise. I changed the spring for this piece of hose to limit the movement.

Piston valve mini cannon
This is my second piston valve mini. The first I dismantled it because it didn't have enough chamber volume. I use a carbonated drink bottle for this one to have more volume and very light weight. I had a combustion mini, but this cannon even a 40 psi beats it. I was quite surprised about the power ...

Re: My second combustion cannon
How did you attach the fan to the plug? Looks like tubes wedged into the cap. It is pieces of tube from a windex bottle. I wrapped some tape around them so they would fit snugly on the cap Syringe fuelling FTW! Yes, who needs those fancy propane tanks and reliable metering systems attached to their...

My second combustion cannon
This is my second combustion cannon: Update: http://i39.tinypic.com/2v13e4l.jpg I bought some pipe and made barrel extension; I sanded down the division in the coupling so there would be no space between the two pipes. It has now a 3ft barrel and a 0.75 C:B ratio. Here is a damage picture using a PV...

PVC Bow
Has anyone here made a PVC bow? I made one and it shoots well enough. I used 1/2" sch 40 pvc. I'll make another from 1" pipe. Its incredible the versatility of PVC pipe.

Re: Combustion Water Bottle Rockets
Has anyone tried HHO (gas mixture produced by electrolysis of water) bottle rockets. I've seen some people on YouTube fill with HHO and ignite 2 liter bottles. I've done it with a thick 60mL bottle. Even at that small amount it is very loud.

Re: A question about making a mini coaxial
Can you tell us a bit about that compressor. Is it cordless? 12v? How much pressure will it deliver? It is cordless. It uses detachable 18v batteries(ryobi one+ system) that are interchangeable with other electric tools. It is supposed to go up to 150 psi, however I don't know how accurate the gaug...

How much pressure can this safely hold?

I heated one side of a 3/4" sch 40 PVC coupling and inserted a soda bottle cap. After it cooled I took out the cap and applied epoxy to the coupling and cap.

Re: A question about making a mini coaxial
I did some testing and finally got it to work. I couldn't go above 60 psi because above that the connection between the hose and the compressor can unexpectedly disconnect. Heres a video: I had to change the piston for a molded hot glue piston and add a...

A question about making a mini coaxial
This is my first, but unfinished mini coaxial piston pneumatic: http://i41.tinypic.com/3029hr5.jpg http://i43.tinypic.com/2qbhk0n.jpg http://i41.tinypic.com/kccp3q.jpg The chamber is made from 1/2 in. sch. 40 PVC pipe. The barrel is the body of a bic pen. I used the neck of a soda bottle on the end ...
