Re: PCP Pumps
That would be nice, but I lack the tools or knowledge to modify one, and they aren't exactly readily available when I go spudding over the summer (cabin in the middle of nowhere). Surely a multi-stage pump for a chamber volume like mine at those pressures isn't that crazy?

PCP Pumps
I'm looking for a good multi-stage PCP pump capable of filling an approx 20 CI chamber to 35 bar/500 psi in under 2 minutes. So far this seems like the best option: http://www.pyramydair.com/s/a/Benjamin_Hand_Pump_Fits_Crosman_Benjamin_PCP_Guns/2222 Does anyone know of something better? Also, is the...

Hydrostatic Shock, anyone?
Hey guys - this question is for the ballistics experts among you, I found these damage pics from earlier this year, you can clearly see in the last picture that the bottom of the can (which seems pretty tough) bulges out. Was this caused by hydrostatic shock, and if is so, is the rippling pattern th...

Re: Good ol' Boomer - damage pics and videos
@ Ragnarok - it's no coincidence. Your cannon along with Dave_224's 600 psi launcher were my main inspirations! I believe it's the 1/2", I can only avoid honking if I pull on the BV extremely quickly and fully so it must struggle to dump the pilot volume fast enough... I'm considering just spring-lo...

Re: Good ol' Boomer - damage pics and videos
@ Ianbuckwell - Thanks for the comment. The QEVs are from Alpha Technologies, ordered from Fastenal. They perform well and no sign of wear on the Pistons after 50+ high pressure shots. I think the cv for the 1/2" is 5 and the 3/4" is maybe 5.5. Nope, no modification required. @ Doodmens - I fill fro...

Good ol' Boomer - damage pics and videos
This is my second air gun. I call her Good ol' Boomer. She can blast through nearly two 2x4s using lead and steel balls and will embed the same ammo deeply into a 4x4! According to GDDT I'm getting around 650-700 fps with 177 grain lead balls at full power, I'm a little skeptical of that though... S...

Will This Work?
(edited by BTB: This is a joke! Do not attempt!!)
Hey guys,
I recently bought a 600 psi shock-pump and want to make a high pressure air gun. Check out my schematic, do you think it would work?

Re: Show your best spudgun pics!
Your gun is sweet Brain, you must get compliments about it all the time! I love the idea of air-powered muskets - I plan on building myself one in the fashion of a big bore, 74-inch long monster arquebus this summer, so it will be a few months before I post pictures :c

Where Are The Tech Specs For Alpha Valves!?
Hey guys, I'm currently playing around with a few configurations in GGDT and am interested in simulating the performance of a cannon using a 3/4 inch Alpha QEV since I hear such good things about them. I've gone to the company's website as well as searched the internet and Spudfiles for a bloody spe...
