Good point cardinal, but you also might be pressing it like a trigger and not holding it, allowing the valve to close before the projectile has come out of the barrel

That should work, but it would need O-rings and it might be difficult to get a seal on the pin but the idea is sound. I created a picture of basically this design with a little change, I made it so that the pin doesn't pass through the chamber. (the green dots are O-rings and the light blue is the p...

No, That isn't sch 40, it says dwv and dosn't have a pressure rating. It might work but I don't think so because there definitily(sp) is a difference between sch 80 and sch 40, so therefore there should be a difference inbetween sch 40 and dvw

nicholia! No need to take it apart (I think)! Unless your gun is different from the model then the insides should look something like this http://entertainment.howstuffworks.com/paintball-3d-gun.htm . I don't think it has very good flow but, most likely it will work if you hook up the pilot space to...

Either that or Spudtech has a good explanation here http://www.spudtech.com/content.asp?id=21.
Also you will get better performence if you pneumatically modify it, a tutorial is on this site in the theories section.

EDIT: Capitilization shows that you actually care about what you are typing, not just throwing things around. Also it makes things much more legible, and divides your posts into different sections and allows the brain to process it easier (at least for me). I see no reason for that last post and how...

How do you activate it? Slide it around the barrel, or does it act as a regular piston and retracts into the tee?

I haven't used that exact type of valve before but the wiki mentions a white thing here
http://www.spudfiles.com/spud_wiki/inde ... dification
but I haven't worked with either of the valves, so maybe I shouldn't be talking.

Did you put the spring in? That might be the problem. The white thing is the equilization port I think. The Wiki recomends that you clean out the valve and check for any plastic chips or something else clogging the valve.

Its just a Lawn Genie, I might be able to drill around the side but it looks as though it would foul up the spring. I might just drill it anyway and see if it kills the valve or not.

guide rod

Most likely this has already been addressed, but I bought a sprinkler valve with a guide rod in it. There isn't enough room around the sides to drill the hole so I was ondering if I could simply take out the guide rod. And if so how would I take it out?

Couldn't the barrel be damaged when the pipe carrying the projectile slams into it? Or would the casing not have suffient speed to damage it?

Why would the diaphragm would get torn up if there isn't a spring in the valve? Sorry, its just I heard that if you remove the spring it will decrease the opening time without damaging the valves.
