Re: Rapid firing air cannon?

Take a look at how an AUTOMAG paintball gun works. It uses a "blow forward" bolt that closes the chamber right before if lets air flow. It is basically a piston that plugs the port until being pushed forward until venting. Just like up with the breech and use a long spring or some other way to feed ...

Re: Vintage Eclipse Gen1 revolvers etc.

This next year will be a good one. We are finally getting back into production with both civilian and military/police models. Thinking about selling components like valves as well.

Re: Valve selection

Piston valves are the best option. When you say you would build one,, what tools are available to you??

I am not sure how to specify piston valves in GGDT.

What is your time line? Use at least a .75" valve.

Re: the air cartridge we wanted

True, but I quit using them after a misfire from merely degassing the launcher as apparently the pressure behind the diaphram leaked out faster than the ballast side and there was enough pressure left to lob a round into the neighbor's yard. Luckily no one was hurt and no damage to any property but ...

Re: the air cartridge we wanted

Interesting stuff but we all don't love exhaust valve piston designs. Relying on the launcher never to leak to prevent a misfire is not ideal.

Re: Electro-pneumatic Eclipse with Air-burst rounds

Not sure why I am having trouble uploading the file but here is a youtube video of the LRF identifying two targets at 25 and 50m and detonating the shells before they impact.

Re: Electro-pneumatic Eclipse with Air-burst rounds

The current fuze is capable of both time based and turn counting activation(or hybrid). We are finishing testing of the time based features then will begin testing with the latest turn counter chip that will give us true binary data(the last one recorded dips and peaks but required more complex code...

Re: Latest Eclipse Defense 37mm Pneumatic

We were using two different Clippard valves that were both rated to 300psi and one could handle 800psi but the other would damage the seat at those pressures and leak after being damaged. We are using both Humphrey valves and our own custom valves for the trigger now up to 1200psi for the custom. Th...

Re: Latest Eclipse Defense 37mm Pneumatic

Iknowmy3tables,

I am not really active elsewhere but will try and be everywhere once we are in production. I will also be able to share more details of the system then as well.

Thinking about getting onto some airgun and firearm related sites to preach the gospel. Any recommendations?

Re: Air Cannon Design Help

Absolutely avoid PVC for this project. Moonbog is also correct regarding the piston size. (and use of a piston valve). Sprinkler valves are usually only rated up to 150psi or 200psi for brass versions. While you can certainly launch heavy rounds at 150psi you need to move a lot of air in a short amo...

Re: Designing a inline piston pressure regulator - Fluid statics math model

Can't say much for mathematics but I agree that you might find what you need at www.palmerspursuit.com as they have regulators for many different installations. Their inline cart-reg might be adequate for your application. The Stabilizers are also a great reg. If you want to make your own I would su...

There are 40mm ping pong balls and there are 38mm ping pong balls. 40mm became the official size in the 90's I think.
