The pressure gauge is on the chamber side of the diaphragm. On this particular valve, the outer wall is about 1/4" of solid plastic so it's pretty sturdy.

BTW, I just ordered some plastic balls that fit the barrel to within 0.02" so I'll let you know what happens with those...

Actually, I don't plan on painting it spudthug. I always try to avoid primer stains and such to keep my guns nice and clean looking. I guess I just like the "natural" look.

I added some better quality photos. They won't post in the right order for some reason though.

I'll post pictures and/or videos when I get the chance. The weather here is a little cold (i.e. dangerous) for spud gunning right now. All I've done so far is some indoor dry shots just to make sure it's functioning properly (which it is). Even at low pressures like 20 or 30 psi it has a pretty loud...

Well pimpman, if you want a little advice, here's another thread I started about how to make a great piston for it.

Mini Piston Gun v2

I just finished making a few improvements on my mini piston gun. They are: -A smaller, lighter piston that sits farther back in the gun giving it a bigger chamber and longer barrel. -A 1" sprinkler valve as a pilot (which in proportion to this gun's size is a HUGE pilot). -A blowgun trigger instead ...

I find that certain parts of fittings (like the inner diameter of the threaded portion in this case) do vary slightly from brand to brand. I'm sure other brands and combinations of parts would work just as well. This just happens to be the one I found that works.

Easy Mini Piston Fit

I discovered today while working on modifying one of my guns a very simple way to make a piston for a 2" chamber. I bought a Lasco brand 2" male adapter and a Lasco 1.5" plug. The plug is already a pretty close fit inside the threaded portion of the male adapter. But, to make it even closer, i cut a...

That's what I thought you were talking about Arsenal. Do you know of anywhere that sells DURA fittings?

It's in the cannon showcase. I don't have any videos yet though.

Actually it's for a small piston gun I already made. It's triggered with a 1/4" ball valve and I'm looking to increase the opening speed.

Small Sprinkler Valve

Does anyone know of a website or store where I can get a fairly small sprinkler valve? Preferably 1/2" ports or smaller.

Thanks Arsenal, I didn't think of that. I'll keep my eyes open for one. Generally, the only brands of fittings I can find are LASCO and MILTON. Do you think they would work?

I just took a few test shots. With some toilet paper wadding, it shot AA batteries clear out of sight at 70 psi. They were hard to see as fast as they were going. I heard one of them hit a tree about 100 yards away and it made a nice loud "WHACK" that echoed really well.

It's a 1/4" ball valve.
