Re: "In the world of spuds today"

Video request seconded. Somehow I don't think the pictures justify the scale of this thing...

Re: Sealing face burn-out
I've made a different piston which should hopefully be immune to most of the carbonizing problems, though not sure when I'll be able to properly test it. I don't have much shooting space for this gun.

Re: Artistic Toy Rocket Launcher w/ Integrated Pump and Base
Is there a way to pressurize your device so that I am not staring down the barrel when doing so?
Twelve-year-old me is thinking it would be hilarious to yank the valve open while billy is still pumping it, so you could have a problem there.

Re: Back here after 6 years Getting back into the hobby
I was just doing some math and 30 feet of 4" in a unique configuration I have had in my head for a few years seems the most fiscally responsible and easiest to work with, seeing my compressor is only capable of ~150 psi, I don't see any reason to go with steel tanks. The main reason to use steel ta...

Sealing face burn-out
Hey, it's that guy that never posts anymore. A few days ago I was testing out a project and made an interesting observation. I had a piston made from a solid chunk of neoprene which developed sealing issues, after taking it out of the valve it looked as though it was vaporizing a little at a time ar...

Re: EMT Electrical Conduit?
Can also verify emt conduit seems suitable for hybrids. I've used the 1.5" stuff up to 9x as a barrel material. I would advise strategically positioning the weld seam so that it is facing away from you. There is not a huge safety factor on this stuff, but it is not likely to fail catastrophically.

Re: Dieseling mini hybrid cartridge idea
If your hammer is moving sufficiently fast you won't even need a burst disk. Your "sabot" should be a tight fit though. One other thing to keep in mind is the ratio of hammer mass to projectile mass; you don't want the hammer to move backwards any more than it has to when the mix ignites. I am not s...

I'd like to see real world cases of people being prostituted ... Yes, the punishments can be very severe :D _________ If I'm reading this correctly, they have removed the reference under the 'destructive devices' category and instead added one about obtaining classification only? We don't exactly d...

I just hammered it in. Broken allen wrenches make great punches for detailing work.
Not sure how to make stamps that are intended for steel; I'd think you'd either need a mill or a *very* steady hand.

Re: High Performance Ammo
Think about it. You take a mass and accelerate it to, say, 500fps over one meter. Then you suddenly decelerate it to 0 fps over one centimeter. The shock of impact is easily greater by orders of magnitude.

Re: High Performance Ammo
Might want to crimp that tubing on there rather than epoxying it. Hitting a hard surface at high speed is gonna put the joint under quite a few thousand g's of shearing force.

Re: Knife Thread
^ It's always amusing when the thread starts a new page and I jump in and catch something like this completely out of context. Edit; to make this post more useful, here's something relevant I made a while back. (what, you didn't think I'd been doing nothing at all while I was away, did you?) Total l...
