Protocol is just a standard set of rules governing how things should be done. How is dimensional analysis, in any way shape or form, bullsh*t? I figure the fewer things I have to remember, the better. Why should I remember 88fps=60mph, when I can easily derive it from what I already know (5280 feet ...

dewey-1 - if you're going to get all technical and precise, perhaps you should follow protocol and simplify your fraction to 22/15.

First, please stop calling it C12 (c-twelve). It's Cl2 (C lowercase L subscript two). Second, concentrated chlorine gas is dangerous. Third, The combustion of Cl2 and H2 results in gaseous HCl, which you probably don't want to be inhaling. Fourth, any combination that's unstable enough to be ignited...

Please use some punctuation, as it makes your posts easier to read. Please use equation form when describing mathematics, as it makes the math easier to understand. MPH = Miles Per Hour FPS = Feet Per Second MPH = FPS * (seconds per hour)/(feet per mile) seconds per hour = 3600 feet per mile = 5280 ...

What I meant is, the pressure of the piston onthe barrel will bend it upwards , you'll need to brace it from the top to make sure that it stays sealed. No, it won't. The force pushing the piston onto the barrel is exactly balanced by the force pushing on the barrel from the opposite side of the elb...

Why would you want to thread a reducer bushing? Just buy one that's already threaded. http://www.mcmaster.com for "PVC reducer bushing".

That the patent is stamped on the drill body is not an indication that the manufacturer owns the patent. They could be paying the patent holder to use that patent, or as jimmy mentioned, there may be some small non-obvious change that is patent-worthy. Why are we still arguing patent law? The main i...

Sure, you could add some new feature to it, or do something in a slightly different way, and get a patent for that. But simply making a bigger gun to drive a bigger nail isn't patent-worthy.

So Bostitch has nail guns for lots of purposes, from tacks to framing nails, and even some that will drive nails into concrete. But they don't have one that will drive a nail through wood and into concrete? The link provided by rad14701 shows a gun that will do wood-to-concrete. True, it says that t...

It will work, but probably not for very long. Those little emergency compressors aren't meant for continuous use, and tend to burn out quickly when used too much.

No...

Enter everything you know, including the measured range.

Then use the solver tool to back-calculate the muzzle velocity required to yield that range.
