Anyway I'm not really concerned about velocities just distance
The two are directly related. A given projectile will go farther if it leaves the muzzle at a higher speed.

I've been gone a while, and just stuck my head in on a whim. As a fellow Firefly fan, I have to say good choice on the name!

no u did a chamber sealing valve.. put it on generic.
Generic would be for ball valves or other non-pilot type valves.

Do you have a grinder? Just get yourself some iron (old pipe from a scrap dealer will do just fine) and grind away. Catch the grindings in a bucket of salt water and wait a day or so. Stir occasionally. You may want to use a fish tank aerator to keep the O2 content of the water high. Let the rust se...

... And that's what GGDT will tell you once you put in the numbers.

Tell us a bit about your valve, and we can help you with the inputs.

Yes, you can pressurize the fuel tank with CO2. It won't choke the flame, as the flame has no contact with the CO2 in the fuel tank. Whatever you do, do NOT pressurize the tank with air. if the fuel runs out, there is the small possibility that the pressurized air-fuel mix in the line will transmit ...

RNA, this is the pneumatic section.

Dyldo, listen to wblteen and look for "GGDT", Dave Hall's Gas Gun Design Tool. Pick some design points and use GGDT to figure out the rest.

How does it work? Ok, here goes... (sorry, text will have to do, so feel free to ask lots of questions) Let's start with the basics. Air is mixed with fuel and ignited. Expanding gases are forced out at high speed, producing thrust. OK, that covers one cycle. Let's take the typical valveless pulseje...

It's spelled infrared, not inferred. "Inferred" is the past-tense form of the verb "infer", meaning "to conclude from evidence or premises". Yes, you could convert your camera to infrared use by removing the infrared filter and placing an infrared pass filter in front of the lens (lets infrared thro...

it's just weird how you have it and can loose it. You don't lose it. You learn to manage it through conscious behavior or environment modification (could include medication) or you were misdiagnosed. ADD/ADHD is heavily overdiagnosed, often by untrained individuals such as school nurses, and worse,...

SleekZ, you say: all of you who say you have it seem to be very articulate and intelligent There's a reason for that. As I mentioned, our filters are screwed up. Due to that, we notice everything. If we've got enough raw IQ, we manage to pick up enough of what's important to slip through the system ...

Much of my life I've been listening to people say that ADD is bulls**t. I speak from experience that it is most certainly NOT bulls**t. It is Not laziness. It is Not selective hearing. It is Not just an excuse for poor performance, though it is often used inappropriately as such. Imagine living in a...

I too have ADD. For a while, my raw IQ got me through. I looked like I was always goofing off in class. Invariably, when I was called on, I'd have to ask the teacher to repeat the question. More often than not, I had the right answer. Around 6th grade, the coursework got a bit more difficult, and I ...
