Paintballs' OD is generally somewhere in the neighborhood of .68", (17.3 mm). So, therefore, your best choice is 3/4"...

ABS does not need primer! Unlike PVC, the plastic does not need to be "pre-softened" prior to bonding. They sell ABS cleaner , which may help the bond some, but it's not necessary. I'm assuming you got DWV ABS, because hardware stores wont carry the pressure-rated stuff. Ergo, you will be forced to...

You can use abs for a combustion, not a pnuematic. I would recomend you use primer; the guys at the hardware store are usually idiots. I asked them for pvc primer and they gave me normal cement. One time some one there actually asked me "what's sch 40?". Homedepot didn't have primer for ABS though....

Loudest Cannon
I was wondering what size pipes would make the loudest boom?
Is it the fatter the pipe the louder? The longer barrell the louder? or the longer the chamber the louder? I'm getting ready to build a basic one and i was thinking of the 4" to 2" cannon. Thanks....![Wink ](./images/smilies/icon_e_wink.png)
