Maybe test it in the dark
You might see a spark jumping THROUGH insulation of wires!

Also, the total distance of the gaps should be the same distance as if you had only one huge gap.

Tight chamber fan.... And thats REALLY tight!

I just encountered something weird i just want to tell you guys. I just fitted a chamber fan, I sawed and shaved the corners of the fan so its almost round. The fan fits just in. Or in fact, it doesnt fit in, its way too large. But with alot of force, hammering, squeezing and cursing: i got it in. :...

Tank B can be risky yes, but ive seen other topics with a bulk tank for quick loading. A solution might be to put a huge (but weak) burst disk on tank B, if it blows, it will just send alot of hot air someway. But a fuel mix will never ignite without any reason. Theres no ignitor in it and just make...

This is a very interesting design wich makes me think of other things. What about having 2 chambers. Chamber A is connected to the barrel. (barrel may be bolt-action reloading) Chamber B is larger and holds a fuel mix under some pressure. It is connected to A with a valve between. -A is filled up ->...

Can I make a cannon using an in-line valve? Im having lots and lots of trouble finding u shaped valves. I only found these, and they have low pressure ratings. http://www.sprinkler.com/buy/item/irritrol_r_valves/2792 http://www.sprinklerwarehouse.com/RainBird-ASVF-Series-Valves-p/100-asvf.htm I wen...

Just wondering to be sure:
Do pennies spark?

The spark gap is quite small so a piezo will certainly do.

Maybe the piezo igniter can drive like 4 (or more) of these things in series, im sure it can handle at least 2 or 3 of em.

It looks real nice, and its a smart thing of putting the handle that way its in the center.

I hope for you your fan (wich does look sweet) doesnt spark inside...
How does it perform?

why wouldnt it leave the barrel with 48"?
The ratio is about 0,95 then, on 15" the ratio would be like 3.
And hey, if the barrel is too long, just take some off :)
U can always make it shorter.

(btw Chamber fan will boost performance alot + luxury of vending chamber)

They should work properly i guess, at least they are made for ignitig a fuel/air mixture :)

But why would you delay some of em?
Just Have them spark all at the same time (put em in series, not parralel)

Sprinklers are better than ball valves, always, no exeptions if the sizes are the same.
Get a 2" sprinkler, mod it and ROCK ON

Or get a more complicated valve like the piston.

gas > liquid vapor

Vapor will settle, stick and do other nasty things.
Using a gas like propane works good enough.
