Usually ABS isn't pressure-rated, but I believe it is easier to get pressure-rated ABS in colder areas due to the fact that PVC gets brittle at low temperatures. Be ready to shell out the $$.... Unless the pipe has a pressure rating written on it, it is UNSAFE to use it under pressure.

I seem to remember a topic a LONG time ago where the poster ran his fridge compressor up to 1800 psi :shock: before he shut it off (meaning higher pressures were theoretically possible). I have no idea whether this is realistic for all fridge compressors, but I know I would never take it to that ...

I did actually try that once with a piece of tennis ball, but oddly enough, the bumper would get pushed back into the QEV :shock: and I would have to open the thing up and yank it out with pliers :D You definitely have the right idea though... I've gotta think of something... Taking that thing apart ...
