Deflagration-to-Detonation Transition.
Its when the speed of the flame front of a combustion exceeds the local speed of sound.

Very nice job, Killjoy, and I FEAR when it finally gets a full barrel and projectile.

What elitesniper means is to attach the center portion of the 1/4" tee to the larger(1/4") end of the blowgun, one end of the tee to your coax and the other end to the schrader valve.

It says its 'no longer available'. The video, I mean.

EDIT: Whoops, its back now.

I like it, the only problem I foresee are that people inept enough to need a tutorial probably won't solvent-weld it unless thats shoved in their faces.

HOLY SMOKES
If I wasn't banned from having a bank that large, I'd have to make this.
Great job man amazing, and now you must test this against 1/4" and 1/2" plate steel.

I second adding more aluminum powder.

It's ok, we all have little lapses. It sounds like you were talking about an explosively formed penetrator.

Mercury wouldn't make a very good projectile :? . Usually tungsten or depleted uranium is used with a gun of this type. An ETC gun accelerates the combustion of it's fuel by dumping large amounts of current into it at once, essentially starting burns from almost every point in the mixture. I suggest...

400 fps out of a 7 inch barrel? I must try this. Interesting that you move the entire barrel, I imagined -at reading the title- a plunger moving backwards around a stationary barrel, the seals against the barrel exterior and against the inside walls of the chamber. Good job, blind.

Wow, I haven't posted in a while. This is a good idea, spudchucker, essentially the HEAR valve in a cartridge. However, you'd need fairly high pressures to get a 0.177-0.25 caliber round to a good velocity. Well, I'm guessing that airgun pellets are your ammunition of choice, as per the schematic. @...

There are no 1/2" blowguns that I know of.......... JDAX, I think you actually went and measured your fitting's diameter. This size of fitting is called 1/4" NPT(National Pipe Thread), and is, in actuality, 1/2" wide. However, in order to tap the hole properly to minimize leaks, a 7/16" bit should b...

8" by 2" for bbs? I know it was made to shoot marbles, but in my opinion, thats a bit of overkill. At least you then won't have to worry about pressure dropping in the barrel. How long is your barrel going to be? You could go fairly long with that chamber, say 72". I must note one problem: If you ar...
