you should make a rapid fire golf ball cannon for the mobility scooter, my guess is you could fit a whole heap of GB's on that thing.

I'm not entirely sure but i think graphite electrodes are better for electrolysis than steel, ideally platinum should be used for hydrogen production, but that gets a little expensive.

BBQ igniters run on piezo-electrics so no they do not need a battery.

is the last picture still a pic of the same cannon shown in pic 1? it doesn't look the same.
