Re: 3D Printed Air Tank and Barrel

Thanks! The main limiting factor for this cannon is my test system. I like to have at least a 2x safety factor. My current bike pump and compressor really bog down after 100 PSI so I stay under 50 when actually using it. I hydro test with water since it’s not compressible and won’t violently explode...

3D Printed Air Tank and Barrel

I wanted to showcase my 3D printed air tank and barrel. I made both by printing a thin shell followed by wrapping it in carbon fiber. I have it attached to a 2” modded sprinkler valve. The valve is rated for a 100 GPM flow rate. Barrel uses an interrupted screw breach to connect to the valve. It onl...

GGDT Question

Sorry I didn’t see that that was a sticky for these questions. Feel free to delete this one Hello, Would someone be able to run a few GGDT scenarios for me? I’d like to compare a pneumatic with a 3” ball valve vs a 3” air actuated sprinkler valve vs a 3” piston valve. I recently spent quite a lot of...

Re: 3” Sprinkler Valve Tennis Ball Cannon

Thank you! I’ve always found pneumatics to be the more elegant option in comparison to combustion cannons. This may be due to my background with spring and pneumatic nerf guns. I was filling from the pilot area. My first piston may have had too big of a notch cut in front of the o-ring to act as a c...

3” Sprinkler Valve Tennis Ball Cannon

I made a tennis ball cannon using a 3” sprinkler valve. It fires a ball at ~150 yards at just 30 PSI. The valve is manufactured by Dorot, repackaged by Galcon, and sold by Drip Depot. The stated flow rate is 390 gallons/minute which is 10x the flow rate of an average 1” sprinkler valve. The valve is...

I wondered about the background music. At the time I did it kinda as a a joke. Just to make sure, I made sure my teacher watched the video with the sound off. What did you think of the last couple of slides (starting with Theodore Roosevelt)? How was the transition from his speech to the song? Did i...

School Power Point Project

Check out my power point I made for history. I really don't care about the actually information, but feedback on the transitions and music would be nice.

I just looked at this really quick, but do you think it will solve the problems that most full auto designs have with the bolt just hanging open after the air is let in?

I'm asking for help because I really don't know what kind of regulator I should get. Of course I know that Home Depot, Lowes, and Mcmaster all have regulators, I just assumed that someone here would be able to recommend a regulator that they had success for spudfiles-ish projects. I want to build a ...

Need Help Finding a Regulator

Can anyone recommend a good non-relieving air pressure regulator for use in an external air tank? Preferably something that I can pick up at a Home Depot, Lowes or order from Mcmaster.

Thanks

thats cool.

I should have this built sometime soon. I want to be done by Thanksgiving. Right now I'm trying to decide what materials I should use.

On a side note, can anyone recommend a good non-relieving regulator? I might also build a PVC air tank to go along with bbmg.

Is the tube leading up to the barrel deliberately greater than the BB diameter? If so the air will probably flow into the mag and agitate the BBs, thereby acting like a cloud BBMG. No its just a crappy diagram. Second hopper, and maybe instead of PVS whihc the design looks like, use a piece of rubb...
