i still have the link from a thread earlier today, here is the semi auto gun I made, its a fairly basic concept used by a bunch of people on here and seems to scale for multiple calibres. If you cant figure it out by yourself you arent ready to build it.

are you sure its a spring return single acting cylinder? seems pretty obvious but I built the gun in the thread you mentioned and everything went really easily. edit: looks like youre pretty sure its spring return. My only other thought would be that your chamber before the cylinder is to large, so ...

learn how to make a piston valve, once you understand it and are able to build it, you can use those principals to make and design other valves. as tallahassee said spring loading a ball valve will give you very good performance (before you ask no one will find you a step by step tutorial on how to ...

Shooting clay is great fun, particularly with high velocity launchers. I can buy it by the 25 lb bag for $5 where I live and you can easily slam it back into a rough block after some shooting, so you get a good day or two of shooting out of a single block. More if you cover it with plastic inbetween...

I've built a few air engines, I used a wobbler engine design you have a piston and cylinder assembly that pivots on a flat surface, the piston has a flat that essentially seals with this flat surface. The cylinder has one hole in it that let's air in and out, and the flat surface has two, one for in...

Id just keep your eyes peeled for a horizontal motor, theyre not too hard to find, I put out a craigslist wanted ad and someone gave me 3 of them all running, made a decent little gokart, and Im working on a second. Also there are modifications you can do to vertical engines that make them work just...

if you cant make this Im not sure you should be allowed to handle any piston valve, you get a much better appreciation for the power of a launcher if you understand the principles and build it yourself.

I dont think many people realize just how much pressure 200-300 bar is, especially in something as large as a golf ball caliber, the forces on your chamber and valve are going to be tremendous. That isnt to say it can be done, but as jack said definitely not for n00bs. It would also take quite a whi...
