That does suck, the air right out of the drum... Pratical uses? I'm sure JSR can think of at least one... :D But seriously, this is the pump I use when doing testing with evacuated barrells... I've also used it to suck sealants into leaky joints in coax's(that much vacuum will pull epoxy right into...

This Sucks!!!

 :D Behold the power of "Vacula"... Did this while bored at work today... Used my aspirator/vacuum pump to crush a 30gal brake cleaner drum... This thing will pull 28.5" of vacuum, but this only took about 19".... I used a scrader valve(sans core) stuck into a 2"npt to 1/2" npt bushing thre...

We're thinking of something similar to Jeepkahn's design. He says it removes a considerable amount of recoil. We're thinking 4" pipe at 8" long ported on the top and sides to reduce muzzle flip and recoil and in actuality giving us a version of a compensator type muzzle break. Here's the question. ...

it depends :D On cannons where the barrel is smaller than the valve porting it tends to overestimate, but on guns where the barrel is larger than the valve porting(my modguns with larger than valve barrels) it underestimates... Albeit, the differences between ggdt and actual are normally within 10%-...

On the diminishing returns aspect, with heavy projectiles, once I get past 900fps, I'm happy, because it takes SO much more pressure to get so little FPS.... The problem is moving close to the speed of the propellent gas. Hydrogen will be below mach .333, whereas the co2 would be near mach 1. That'...

Something else that I've touched on before, In CERTAIN circumstances(projectile weight and amount of pressure mainly) Co2 will outperform air or nitrogen... Call it the exception to the rule, but with heavy projectiles and highpressures sometimes co2 is better... On the diminishing returns aspect, w...

I shot them some this weekend and they exceed the ranges I posted with the hipress gun, a little more than .5 mile...(phenomenal for a shoulde...

When I originally thought of this, it was gonna be for the penetration contest, and using allthread as the point, the idea was for the allthread to shear the threads and keep going through the target while the tail stop at the surface... And if you don't cement the coupler, they DO discard after lea...

I've got 12 of these, and 15 more "bodies" waiting for the all thread points... I can actually take 7/16" hex bolts(5/8"head size) and it fits in the top(these take a 5/8allen wrench) and sharpen those... @JSR, I do have a nice pair, but she won't let me post the pics... And did I mention we're talk...

1.25" "Knocker" Missiles...

:D Get your mind out of the gutter JSR... These are a precursor to some 1.25" Blowdarts I'm going to be making.. They are for a 1.25" bore launcher(These would be great for Velocity3x's new gun)... They start with 3.5" of .75"sch120 pvc, tapped to .75"x10 threads, add a coupler(to make it fit 1.25" ...

Could be interesting(as long as people don't get too competitive<read>)...

on a slightly differant note, I would like to see a forum dedicated to showcasing penetration/damage shots... And the HiSpeed video could be a a forum instead of just a thread as well...
