My suggestion would be polyurethane foam. Take a piece of pipe, the size of your barrel, lubricate or powder it inside and then spray the foam into it.

pro: very light and reusable

cons: need some time to cure

I know, but it does it's work very well this way and it never leaked before.
I don't pressurize it over 120psi (compressor) anyway but as soon as I go higher I will find another solution.

The angled piece is just random because I haven't had the fittings (without using some from my other project) to attach another tee.

I like it even more due to the different look and it balances very well.

Consider to pressurize from the pilot volume (with a small chamber like in a pistol it wouldn't make any difference).

Coaxial are bad designs to go semi / auto so there wouldn't be an advantage either.

Do you have the original end cap/release for this extinguisher?
I had the same problem but I discovered that the pipe inside of the FE (like in a spray can) was mounted with a standard 1/2" thread. I sawed off the release from the cap and screwed a 1/2" nipple into it from the top.

If I get it right from the diagram then you vent with a hammer hitting the bolt, the piston strikes back and reset the hammer to firing position again.
