I used to have a ColdHeat...and it sucked. I know how to efficiently remove individual components, I was wondering if there was a good method to clear the solder (or loosen) off many of them at once. Kenny has the right idea, I actually read soemwhere that you can put the board in a toaster for a co...

Rapid Desoldering?

Alright, so I've come to realize that old CRTs make for great electrical component "farms". I find 15" monitors all the time, and they're bristling with all kinds of components inside. Now...getting those components out is a different story, and thats why i'm posting here. Desoldering with an iron t...

There's a very simple and 100% accurate way of knowing if the cap is holding a charge- Multimeter.

Yeah, disconnect the AA battery then short out the big cap with some piece of metal (screwdriver works very well), or a resistor if you want to avoid damaging the cap.. Another option is to connect a Multimeter to the cap while you're working so you'll see instantly if it is charged or not. Oh, and ...

It should also be mentioned that you're not necessarily in the clear if it fails just because it's ABS. It's very possible for the ABS to rip in two seperate places and send a chunk o' flaming plastic in a random direction. Granted that's better than a zillion PVC shards, but I wouldn't wanna get sm...

The easiest way to attatch a handle is to solvent weld the handle into a "T" fitting, cut the top half of the "T" off, and then secure it with pipe straps to wherever.

The straps are a bit unsightly, but you don't need any messy glue (and straps can easily be painted).

You may not want to drill your igniter into a cap that isnt very thick to begin with. Try drilling directly into the chamber via one side of the cleanout adapter, and place the igniter there.

Or you could build a stand out of wood for it. This should absorb the recoil and make it go even further.

Laser Sight

Okay so im reading the laser sight how-to, and it seems fairly complicated. I came up with an easier way but I dont know if it works: 1.Remove the batteries 2.Place them in a custom holder and have 2 wires coming from it (one for each terminal) 3:Force the button down permanently 4: Put a switch in ...

My personal favourite which is commonly overlooked: Lock De-Icer!. Its more powerful than Right Guard, but not as scary to use as ether.
