Firing buckshot, or "beehive" as you've put it is exactly what you've stated; the ammo is the hardest part. Now, I can't speak for airsoft because my experience lies with paintball. With a proper sabot, the paintballs will do pretty much what is expected. The spread will also depend on the sabot. I'...

The bigger concern (at least for me) was to keep it in the recent threads list. I checked the unread posts, but when I left and came back, this was not there, so I had to go through the forum to find it. If it were to stay in the recent threads list, that would eliminate about 10 clicks from my mouse.

Oh, and ASA is 0.822in OD with about 12 TPI. 1/2 NPT is 0.84in OD with 14 TPI. Just because it can be done doesn't mean it should be. Calling these threads the same is misleading at best, especially for those who are not familiar with with them. No one is disputing your knowledge on the subject. In...

Re: HPA Tank Air Source
... Anyway, this connector, just so happens to be 1/2 inch NPT threaded. https://www.paintballspartan.com/paintball/os/images/180_degree_CO2_adapter_s.gif ... That fitting is an ASA adapter. It is not 1/2" NPT threads and should not be used as such. If you use that in 1/2" NPT, you are just asking ...

You want to be able to lock the end cap in place. The most common method is to use a threaded plug with the appropriate adapter. Try not to glue the end cap into place. You want to be able to properly exhaust the launcher after it is fired. You can accomplish this with the coke bottle deal you descr...

The general consensus, from a performance perspective, is that the valve should be placed as close to the projectile as possible. This cuts back on dead space (the empty space the air must travel in order to reach the projectile). Essentially, the less dead space that is present, the higher the velo...

Nerf's N-Strike series has magazines that the darts are just straight loaded in to and they seem to work fine (for the most part). The cartridges, while adding much more durability to the darts, do present problems. First off, it will make the magazine (and blaster) bulkier, you've got to work in an...

I owned a 420hc knive too. It was a leatherman c33. The edge-holding ability wasn't great. It became blunt very fast. (was very easy to sharpen tough) Actually, that may have something to do with the sharpening technique. When a blade is sharpened, a microscopic bur is raised on it. If that bur is ...
