daberno123, The brass was machined on my metal lathe, but there is no reason it could not be done on a drill press. Davidvaini, The only problem with that is Airsoft BB's are not available in Australia. my guess would be some pretty high fps, the 1.15gm steel BB's were doing about 500fps, and that w...

Hey guys, Well I have scraped the polycarbonate MkII due to a few issues with sealing at higher pressures and it is to much of a pain to work with. I have started working on MkIII, I will put up a new thread on it when I am finished. It will be all brass construction and be a lot more compact, here ...

maverik94, brass and copper fitting designed for mains water will be able to take several hundred psi no problem, as they also factor in water hammer spikes in pressure for the pressure rating. Also a tip for the end cap, cut out a small disk of 2-3mm thick rubber and put it inside to act as a seal,...

Mineral spirits eh?? I'll have to try that and compare. :) Gippeto, I read somewhere that WD-40 is based on mineral spirits. I can't confirm that. I will say that mineral spirits are much cheaper than WT especially in 1 gal or larger sizes. They smell real similar and evaporate at about the same ra...

Errr...you don't have to sand the joints. The solvent actually melts them together so increasing the surface area is kinda moot. Cleaning them is necessary, though. I know sanding is not required, but because he did not use primer sanding would have helped the cement bond by providing a freshly exp...

BTB, just wondering mate.. is the piston in your QEV more or less a rubber disk? I want to attach my homemade pump straight into the chamber port of the QEV. I'm just a little worried because I don't want to stuff up the piston after having payed 50 bucks for the QEV. If it happens to be the same i...

The cements are slightly different, but it should still hold the joint. I hope you used primer with it? In most cases PVC solvent weld joints are much stronger than the fittings and pipe, but only if the joints have been cleaned well and a primer is used. If you have not cleaned the joints and used ...

i cant find pressure rated pipe over here. and the fittings are very expensive. 50 bucks for a 100-50 bushing! All the pressure rated fittings up to about 60mm can be bought from most hardware stores. It is the bigger sizes which can be expensive. you can get all the sizes from tradlink plumbing, b...

I would not use it, particularly if you want to keep you're eyesight and hearing. Fork out the extra money and get rated fittings and pipe, then you can enjoy spudgunning without the constant risk of having it blow up in you're face, or even worse someone elses. Remember it is not exactly a legal ho...

a gas powered pump I'd love that. Maybe I could construct one, ripping up a fridge compressor and something with a gas engine, like a chainsaw or a lawn mower. If I go spudding, it is either in my backyard, or somewhere in the middle of nowhere, which, sadly does not provide a power outlet. I was l...

a mini-fridge I rememeber that someone wantted to use a mini fridge but it turne out that it didn't have a compressor... if yours has a compressor then I suppose that it should be able to reach a similar pressure or even higher but with lower flow @psycix I'd like to get one too but AC isn't as pop...
