I wish I had my camera so I could upload a video. I use the 3/4" QEV to pilot a 2" piston valve (PVC tee). The blowgun is not enough to pilot it with a 3/4"x1/4" adapter connected to a 1/4" tee with the blowgun on one side and a schrader on the other. Do you think this could happen because of lower ...

What I was saying is that this example: Large volume > 3/4" QEV > 3/8" QEV > 1/8" QEV > Small(Flow restricted) would not be significantly more powerful than: Large volume > 3/4" QEV > blowgun I understand that this wouldn't allow for any performance increase. I've never actually been able to pilot ...

If the flow is limited, then a slight difference in valve speed isn't really going to make much of a difference in the valve being piloted. A 1" pilot opened at the same speed as a 1/2" pilot will dump air 4 times faster than the smaller valve. You might be able to improve the opening time on the 1...

QEV Cascade
Anyone ever tried cascading 2 or 3 QEVs in a series? It seems to me like it would be useful for piloting a large area with a very small (or slow) valve. I know that using a setup like this would not allow the final pilot volume to be exhausted any faster than with a single properly piloted QEV. So t...

But hey man, seriously, I just want to let you know I'm not tryin to rip-off your cannon or anything. I didn't meant to make it sound like that. This cannon (if it ever even gets built) isn't anything like yours. I have to give you huge props on your cannon though, I could only wish to have a "knock...

@velocity3x I never would have expected this type of reaction from you. Firstly, I haven't used anything from you other than the idea of machining a valve (out of aluminum or HDPE). And even this part of my design I attributed to you in my very first sentence of my post. Secondly, this is just a bas...

I'm in no hurry, it's very unlikely anything with materialize out of this any time soon. I'm not looking for a quick answer to ease any fears, simply looking for answers, or at least some insight, to a question that I'm neither knowledgeable or experienced enough to answer myself. I understand that ...

Valve Body Material
I'm looking to do something like velocity3x did with his 44mm Hungus and have the valve body custom machined out of something. It seems aluminum is a good material to use for something like I want (150-200 psi pressure range and ability to secure load bearing screws in it to connect the barrel and a...

Thanks Gippeto. Yes, you're correct about the reducer being DWV. I know it's no excuse, but it's the only thing I could find for what I needed. I was iffy as to whether I should use it or not, but I feel safe (whether I really am or not) using it as long as I don't take the pressure up too high. The...
