Myself I'd suggest one old member on the panel, gives you a vaguely experienced voice in terms of "Actually DR did this in 2007" sort of thing.

Re: Short question topic
A lot of factors were ignored, initial projectile position for once, another that this projectile is already spinning as it enters the barrel. They went to a lot of effort, but why go to that much effort when you don't have all the facts. I personally think, try either, if you're happier with one or...

Re: 2018 Impromptu Non-Ghetto Contest
I'll exclude myself on two fronts. I'll only vote for hybrids, and I want to build something for once (that isn't a fart gun in a weed whacker).

Labtec back, Mark.f online (I see you boy) now we just need Poland and SB15 back! We'll all be able to bully GF into building a hybrid.
Nice bike too lab, what have you done with it?

Re: Advantage of QEV over Solenoid valve.
Consider constructing your own valve, and instead of using an extinguisher, use 2" threaded pipe, which is readily available here if you know where to look. I wouldn't call a piston valve trivial to construct, but certainly simple enough with basic tools and skills.

Look up quick dump valves on the search, that's essentially what you describe.

Rag, do you mean your brother doesn't want hot, moist air in his oiled "shock absorbers".

Re: "In the world of spuds today"
I do have a uhhh, 3:1 CB ratio, so good "performance" is guaranteed. Incidentally, thoughts on a good pilot valve for such pressures? I'm playing around with a lapped HDPE seal for a piston valve, but the lack of convenient pilots is difficult. I don't want some plumbed nightmare linking a pressure ...

Re: "In the world of spuds today"
Almost exactly, except I modified the trigger so it was a one finger affair, but left the whole guard intact. And used a small cobbled together chamber. 12" barrel tosses .22 air rifle pellets at 900fps, so I'm happy.

Re: "In the world of spuds today"
Myself and JSR have had them for a couple of months, I've done a couple of pressure tests on QEVs (check the recent posts in this thread). And can I recommend a 3kpsi pressure washer gun plinker. More satisfying than you think.

Re: NEW ZEALAND & LEGALITY OF SPUD CANNONS?
First of all, my advice to anyone is not get legal advice from forums, and never give it either. However, I have some recommendations. Contact the nearest large police station and ask to speak to the District Firearms Officer. They may go by a different name in NZ. Ask if you can get the definition ...

Re: Help with First Pneumatic Cannon
Gel balls, you're gonna need to use fairly low pressure, they split very easily. I'd use propane instead, fairly steady pressure, cheap as (Big W has them for $10, and a 450g canister will last ages. Also you'll want a very smooth barrel, Bunnings have 8mm and 10mm ID aluminium tube that has a fanta...

Re: "In the world of spuds today"
P doesn't need a chamber, it needs a source of air, be that a bike pump, a beer fart or a HPA bottle. You fill it, remove it and it'll fire.
