Re: New Member - First Cannon - 2 inch L copper
There is something oddly pleasing about being able to hold, if even only slightly, and aim your cannon. Very nice!

Re: Spudfiles IRC Channel
Sometimes people load the chat, switch to another tab, do work for 30 minutes only to find out that they've been signed out of the existing spudfiles chat in that time, and someone that came in 5 minutes ago will join, not see you because you've been 'inactive', and leaves. then you finally check th...

Re: Automatic Piston Hybrid Cannon Design
Why bother with power off the street? Take a page out of University of Texas's book and investigate the use of a Compulsator... Rumor has it they've been working pretty closely with their gov't funded buddies in Dahlgren, MD to work on the power supply for the Navy rail guns! https://www.utex...

Re: Where's Jack?
So what you're saying is... he's purposely not posting on spudfiles because he knows that one more post could result in a stack overflow, bringing spudfiles to it's knees?

Not nearly enough posts on that forum for JSR lol. perfect playground for him however. I wonder where he's gotten to, maybe he's made it to the 'big time' finally?jrrdw wrote:Maybe he's hiding here:http://tbotoh.com/forum/index.php?sid=d ... 8f308faa71

I'm actually living in the Evergreen area and working in Broomfield these days haha. Sad thing is - no spud guns made it out to CO with me.

Re: Automatic Piston Hybrid Cannon Design
I reckon someone just learned how to use a CAD platform dangerously well and went to town on this design! I hope not at least, but the moving parts are going to need some more explanation as to how they will survive the wear and heat generation. Good luck! I've definitely let my mouse lead the desig...

Re: Is spudding dead?
The ~2006 Spudfiles had that feature: see here . Not too tricky, but it requires people to actually use a thumbnail image. That is probably what I remember it from - surely it can be modernized to make it k3wl for today's standards! Yea the thumbnail requirement was a concern of mine - otherwise it...

Re: Is spudding dead?
You should've seen the Spud tech site's front page if you think this one is outdated  I do like your idea of a new showcase weekly - and maybe I can 1 up that idea: How about a banner that refreshes every 5 seconds that shows a picture of a spud gun built on this site. clicking on the immediate...

Re: Is spudding dead?
Good point Drac. My main reason for not tackling any new projects has been partially my obsession with 'bigger/better' being a requirement to any new build. VERA may not be the most technically complicated build on this sight, in fact it's very simple in operation (okay maybe it's actually very comp...

Re: Show your best spudgun pics!
Damn watching this makes me realize 3 things: 1. I am getting old 2. we haven't got a simple to use portable hybrid yet 3. mobile c. uses some tarded sounds in his vids 1. - if you were actually really old.. 3. - you would know those 'weird' sounds are taken directly from DOOM video games! lol. and...

I'd have to say this is my best work I can show! Hope to one day have me blasting granite cliffs to bits in the remote Colorado Wilderness (It's very fun with high powered rifles!) I hate to say it, but p...
