Yeah, thats my main reason for wanting to do a piston next. You forgot about being able to take a piston valve (for the most part) to a higher pressure, thus making for a more powerful shot, if that's what is desired.

two mini's
My brother and I each built a mini last weekend for fun. they should be self explanatory from the pictures. they are extremely powerful, I put a piece of tater through a piece of paper at like 2 feet away. :P Anyways, mine is the bigger one with a bbq sparker sticking out and my brothers is the smal...

basic copper pnuematic pnuematic
So here is my first pneumatic. went for copper with a modded sprinkler valve. This was done mainly for practice. The chamber is 25 inches by 1 inch. the barrel is 48 inch by .5 inch. The valve is a modded 3/4 orbit sprinkler valve. I have taken it to 140 psi with a shock pump I have, but normally us...

I will go ahead and disagree with the majority here... the lantern sparker has worked great on my last combution. go ahead and use it. just make sure that it is easy to get to when you need to change the flint. and as others have said, put a computer fan in the chamber, it really does make a huge di...

right on.. Until I read your response, I didnt see much of an issue with the whole subject. But your explanation makes sense. And while on the subject, does anybody know the actual laws on using a spudgun for hunting? I havn't built one capable of even trying, but I am curious. And if I do build one...

Is there any exception to the "no posting of shooting animals" rule? like say talks about legally hunting an animal with a license, only using a homemade spud gun? (I saw the exception stating someting about legal paintball use) I tried searching the forums for mentions of this but didnt find anythi...

the ugly sexiness
Hey all... my first cannon. first post too. I built this about 2 years ago after remembering a cannon that my friends dad had. It was around ten years ago, but I remembered the basics of how it was put together so I decided to build one. It has a 2 foot by 4 inch chamber and 4 foot by 2 inch barrel....
