No, I don't think so.
Camera flash circuits can put out many dozens of amps, but Stunguns are just pulsed voltage, with very little current.
It's the current that will heat up the wool, not the voltage.

Stop with the bloody tanks! We've gone from appearance of spudguns to which damn battle tank would win! I will be forced to break out a plasma rifle in the 40-watt range if you persist further. I agree most strongly with what spud yeti said. I design for power, followed by adjusting the design sligh...

More people are killed by bees every year than are killed in spudding accidents - do beekeepers go out of their way to point out that beekeeping can be safe if carried out responsibly? No, beekeepers wouldn't, but no-one will try and ban bees. Firstly, actually enforcing a ban on bees would be diff...

No, I am not expecting a retraction from the station. It would be nice, but the odds are very long. But as spudguns have got some press, it would be wise to use the upped (if only temporary) awareness of them that will result to show they are not as black as the television paints them. Ideally, we n...

Well, if we can bolt together a professional looking statement, and ideally get it featured on Youtube, then after that, people will listen to us immediately in future. It doesn't necessarily have to be issued by Spudfiles. Perhaps we should create a Youtube account called "Spudgunnersonline" (or "M...

In that case, we've given them the chance to air our views in a manner of their choosing and they have refused, so I say we give them absolute hell on Youtube.paaiyan wrote:EDIT: Oh, and that TV station hasn't responded to my e-mail yet. They probably just ignored it after they read the first paragraph.

Well, Joel did end up in the media occasionally. We might not succeed in getting good coverage, but at least we could least say we tried. But Youtube sounds like a clever plan. I imagine there's a good hit rate of spudgun searches at the moment because of the news article, so if we could get good ra...

@Gepard:Typing from the scanned page linked in PCGuy's post, which is a different letter to the Spudtech one: Potato cannons are generally constructed from "PVC" plastic tubing and fittings and are designed to launch a muzzle-loaded potato (or other similar size projectile) using an aerosol hair spr...

You might want to turn on the (this is painful to type :D )US English Dictionary. Otherwise they'll think your just some UK member that's poking their nose into US business (although that make work for you if you imply that you've been so insulted by it). Normally I'd also recommend you sign it as ...

Draft of e-mail.
I'm in the middle of drafting an email to the site... I imagine it needs a lot of corrections, so any suggestions for improvement? I'll send it later after the changes. To the reader, I start by expressing my deepest sympathies to the bereaved, but I felt I must contact you about several inaccuracie...
