Heh ya I poke my head in from time to time, probably more frequently now that I'm working in a CNC shop :) I'll have to put it together since I've been working on it recently, but I believe a few pictures could be provided in the next couple days. Ghastly little thing though, blows your ears out wit...

I've used carbon fiber arrow shafts as BB barrels for years now. You gotta buy the shafts that don't have nocks or heads on them, they are way cheaper and you can inspect the bores easily. During archery season Walmart carries them for about $6 a piece. And don't worry about pressure ratings, I've f...

.40 cal QEV repeater

Hey guys it's been a while since I've checked in but I got the urge... And came up with this... http://imageshack.us/a/img16/7523/img20121130154850554.jpg [/img] It's a 3-way triggered 3/8" QEV rifle with a .40 blowgun barrel. I'm still debating whether to get one of those 6-shot repeater things for...

Hmm news to me, guess these theories never surfaced during my time on spudtech. I didnt consider a "dead" space between valve and breach, assumed they were connected very closely. Does make sense the air would heat under compression in between the two... I dont remember any mention whatsoever of roo...

Hmm, what type of gas are you using then? Helium or hydrogen are the only gases that could exceed mach 1 at room temperature, and I kinda doubt you are pumping pure compressed hydrogen into your pellet rifles... On your argument that it is compressed against the BB/pellet. Wouldn't the release of te...

Any old school members still around?

Hey all, been a while since I've dropped in. I was curious to know how many original Spudtech members are still visiting, back in the days when the hybrid was getting its first testing in DR's garage or the Strafer-style BBMG was being tested by Aaron, I and a few others. Lots of good memories there...

That's a sweet gun but... Not sure you are hitting supersonic with room-temp gas. Dont know if any of you old members are lurking around who remember the many discussions on the flow of gas at room temperature. The way I recall it, gas can not exceed the speed of sound at room temp, thus a projectil...

Nice gun, biggest weight problem I had with mine was from the tank also, try putting a quick-connect on the gun with a 3' or so hose on your fuel tank.

Put a bigger chamber on it though heh, you'll be glad you did.

The HighP version is next, gonna be running dual barrel/vortex and all alum construction but smaller chamber volume for quick response (and save on ammo consumption lol).

STHORNE~ Thats a great idea never thought of that, thanks! I'll have to look for some old POS furniture for salvage...

Sounds like the stock is in then, I'll get to that. The reason I prefer PVC is its a lot cleaner looking than steel pipe, steel pipe surface finish is piss, and the fittings look like crap. If I was back in tech school I'd have simply machined an aluminum chamber, but I'm not, so I cant... And I alr...

I've been somewhat concerned by the PVC chamber (though I do have some trust in it, Sch80 is some strong stuff and its been my select hybrid material). I've been considering cutting a sleeve of PVC and gluing+hose clamping it over, with holes drilled to accomodate parts, and I mean HOSE clamping it,...

New/old hybrid just about finished

Hey folk, just droppin in to say I'm still here, and I haven't quit spudguns lol. Spudding runs in ups and downs, you love it, its boring, you love it, it gets boring... I'm starting back in the upstage lol, and Hybrids are just plain my favorite of them all... So, my cousin and I are starting that ...
