I've never been a big fan of bends in barrels... I am going to modify slightly to reduce wasted pilot volume by switching to a male run tee off the qev, and a male fitted bv... will reduce the pilot volume about an inch^3

nice but I think you could choose a more compact design (i.e. the main valve closer to your shoulder, thus allowing for barrel length for the same overall length) That one is in the works... It'll use copper construction and a cable actuated bv to pilot it... This was meant to be cheap, easy, and a...

Caveman simple HiPressure rifle...

to coin a phrase, "It's a High Pressure Rifle So simple a Caveman could build it"... I basicaslly wanted a shoulder fired version of the mini modgun that would enable heavier and larger bore projectiles to be launched using hipressure/lowvolume with performance exceeding hivvolume/low pressure pvc c...

You spend years of R&D perfecting the contant flow full auto valve, and all they remember is the farting machine *sigh* :D

Slightly off topic, but in a highpressure mini(JSR) you can put a plug in "sw" and the gev becomes a mini coax chamber...

I actually had planned on using a piston for it but i never really understood how it worked.
and i know about the pressure but im not a beginner
Looks workable, but for "not a beginner", you could do better...

One thing that gets overlooked in projectile design is overall length... Normally with most recreational spudguns you're dealing with sub-transonic flows, but for those of us who pllay with highpressures/high velocities, the airflow around the projectile will change, and when you are dealing with 90...

My only concern with porting is that if you have a tight fitting projectile and the porting isn't perfectly calculated, then there will be a breaking effect on the round prior to exit. braking, not breaking. :D The braking will be minimal. Plus the lower velocity would be offset by less drag from l...

It doesn't say that you need barrell porting, but with what it does describe it makes it quite easy to deduce that if launch disturbances(aka high residual muzzle pressure) can be reduced before the projectile exits the muzzle(via muzzle porting) there will be significantly less yaw created by muzzl...

Darts, aerodynamic jump, and freeflight....

http://www.arl.army.mil/arlreports/1999/ARL-TR-1872.pdf Stumbled across this article for KE round flight characteristics, and thought it might come in handy for those of us that are into advanced projectile designing... The short of it is how it relates to drag/fin stabilized rounds in the transitio...

When you find a combustion that can penetrate the quarter inch of steel using saboted darts my Christmas present can penetrate with a hollowpoint I will probably give up on magnum rifles and use that instead.
