Here's a cheapo A/D converter that can be cascaded to give you 9-bits of resolution: http://ca.mouser.com/Search/ProductDetail.aspx?qs=sGAEpiMZZMtTlwiyc7n6Su8KHS11A2YVllmNUxAtq9g%3d It isn't 16-bit like a soundcard, but you don't have to worry about any audio circuitry interfering with your signal. ...

Has anyone considered using an A/D converter and the PC's parallel port?

Oh, I think I get it now. I still think it might be a better idea to seperate your amplification from your filtering (well, I guess you aren't really "filtering"). The sound card will also probably have a better filter than a simple RC circuit. May as well just try it as-is, worse comes to worse you...

Can't you just use that second amplifier cascaded with the filter to adjust the gain as need be?

Uhhh...I'm no expert, but I think that filter may saturate on you: Since: Av=Rf/R With a DC signal, the cap will force Rf to be an open, so therefore you now have: Av= Infinity/R Now you are using an AC input, but there are small offset voltages on an Op-Amp, which when amplified by infinity, may ca...

Seems like a nifty idea to try if you have alot of spare capacitors lying around, but it doesn't seem very powerful.

Still, I can see the entertainment value of a fully automatic cap launcher :P

I have to say, I can just see the special on FOX news: Reporter: "Tonight: Hobby turns lethal, new methods making unregulated "spud guns" more deadly than ever before!" *Cut to old-ish guy* Guy: "Back in the day we just had some beer cans, gasoline and a match. Now they're usin' propane and all kind...

Errr...you don't have to sand the joints. The solvent actually melts them together so increasing the surface area is kinda moot. Cleaning them is necessary, though.

You can set individual wireless network cards in "ad-hoc" mode for a cheap and easy one-host wireless AP. Bridge the wireless card with your wired interface, and if all is done right, you should be able to connect without a hitch. Of course, there are some limitations- the host computer obviously ha...

Gipetto is right; Ebay is great, but you really have to read the item descriptions before buying. I've gotten tons of good stuff from Ebay, but I did my research first. On that note, I saw some paintball regs on Ebay for pretty cheap. Problem is they all have some kind of bizaare outlet meant for us...

You're spraying in too much fuel.

Propane has a "butter zone" ratio in which it will react. By opening up the end cap, you let more air in, and reduced the ratio to that zone, so it worked.
