thanks for the help, still have a couple questions though, in the post you said water, i was thinking of using old engine oil, is water better then oil? do you know what temperature is best to heat it to, because with the electric furnace i have access to it would be much easier to know the temp rat...

how long did it take to do that much? not exactly sure how long that took must have taken a couple hours or so, then add a few more to that to get it to where it is now You could still launch it you know.... good idea :o ........... wait!, no, terrible idea :lol: i have pretty much got it ready for...

i was planing on placing it in the furnace just after my dad has finished using it so it will be at 1000c, then just leave it in there while the furnace cools will that work well for softening the file? ill worry about the rest of the proces once the blade is shaped sorry i have no experience in any...

ah ok thanks, i think mine is about 10mm, wasnt sure if mine was to big for a decent sized spring/hammer to open, but i guess if you can get the 8mm one to work with twice the pressure i guess it shouldnt be to hard
