Re: is my valve good?
Anytime you decrease a port size in the middle a pneumatic system, you create a choke point. It's best to match the port sizes or as close as you can.

Re: Canada prohibits spudguns over 20mm
So it looks like my 20mmplus bores are now prohibited!!! What do I do... get them grandfathered and so non-transferable? Do I get a compensation for turning them in? All my pneumatics are firearms in Canada (over 500fps) and I think any combustion would be too (combustion = fire). Not happy with th...

Put potato slugs through old kitchen appliances, that's always fun.

Re: Short question topic
@JRRDW, could you explain what you mean by air getting around the projectile and slowing it down? What I had in mind was a barrel diameter that narrows by less than a millimeter, going from decently airtight, to requiring a few tamps with a ramrod to fully seat. If the projectile is air tight from ...

Re: Short question topic
Okay heres a weird question that will probably be obvious in hindsight. I think it would make sense but lemme ask you guys: So obviously there is such a thing as too tight of a barrel for a given projectile. Unless you have a pretty massive air chamber, once you start having to hammer down a projec...

Re: Describe the ultimate potato cannon
I like this idea. I've yet to build a proper pneumatic. I actually like this idea a lot. It's simple yet has the benefit of the pump. When you say 2:1 you mean chamber to barrel ratio, correct? I would likely target a 200psi pressure for a pneumatic. I feel that should offer a reasonable and substa...

Re: Describe the ultimate potato cannon
A spud cannon that pays it's own way! Once that happens I prefer a pneumatic barrel sealing piston valve 2" or smaller with built in air compressor. As for the rest of the build 2:1 rule of thumb works well. Add on's would be but not limited to built in magazine for easy loading and less of it. Int...

Re: Magazine problem
I have tried similar and it will always happen like that, there is too much air just to launch one BB, it will try to launch the next one or two at a reduced velocity, so they just roll down the barrel. If you want semi auto you need to block the magazine tube somehow between each shot, that's the ...
