Re: Making a Parallax Propeller chip based chronograph
I am planning on placing the sensors at the beginning and end of the six inches of porting on the barrel as a launcher mounted chronograph. We use case-less rounds with no wadding but perhaps a thick enough cloud of condensation could block the infrared sensors as you say. I am just getting back int...

Making a Parallax Propeller chip based chronograph
So I have read other threads regarding inaccuracies in readings with chronographs using Arduino boards but what about using the multi core Propeller? With 8 cores the effective clock rate ranges from 32 kHz up to 80 MHz which should be plenty fast to read the input from infrared sensors and avoid th...

Re: Caselman air machinegun
But what about the Caselman? Is anyone building one on here? Has anyone? I read a couple of years ago that Mr. Caselman had partnered with someone to start producing them.

Re: Caselman air machinegun
The FBI has been going around to Hobby stores trying to collect info on customers who have purchased drones and/or have such skills as to create what you are speaking of. They obviously are surprised it hasn't happened yet either.

Re: New marshmallow gun
The laser is part of an infrared range finder. It calculates distance on range and angle then our launching controller reads that info and adjusts the velocity of the shot automatically. It fires the 1.5" Petco tennis balls good too but is designed for finned or rifled rounds. It can however fire ma...

Re: New marshmallow gun
We haven't fully tested it yet but have been running it at 300psi with an electro-pneumatic trigger system, allowing us to connect a laser range finder into our firing solution for variable velocity operation. It is a 40mm with 4.75" case-less ammo. Designed to launch a number of the latest types of...

Re: MythBuster with Eclipse launcher video.
Thanks for all the positive posts. Regarding the "Holy Grail" of launchers, our new mag fed has been called the 'Holy Grail' of less-lethal launchers. I will be posting some pics on Monday with any luck. Just fitting in some last second changes. As for Eclipse internals, there are a number of thread...

Re: MythBuster with Eclipse launcher video.
To clear some confusion, yes, I made the launcher and Jamie and Adam both have one. Adam has a first generation revolver and Jamie was the first customer for the new model. There will be a segment airing in the next month or so with the Eclipse being used. I will post about it when I find out what e...

Re: MythBuster with Eclipse launcher video.
Yes, it has a "positive force" piston valve that uses a larger surface area on the back piston to open the valve instead of bleeding out pressure behind it. Makes for fast cycle time and a safer system overall. The Mythbusters will have at least one show this year with the Eclipse. Filming with the ...
