not supersonic. air can not move faster then speed of sound. Yes it can, one just has to apply heat. JSR got damn close (1104fps) with ambient air, maybe in a hot evironment it would be possible (Death Valley). And think of the air in a supersonic jets cabin, that can exceed Mach 1 plus some :D :ro...

if your referring to a a barrel sealing piston of course the force is uneven or else the sealing face will not work No the pressure is even inside the chamber, the reason it works is that the air is trying to escape but is getting blocked by the piston, it becomes uneven when piloted, hence the pis...

All i do is use X amount of fuel (roughly calculated) and then increase or decrease the amount of fuel until i acheive the loudest bang! I am sure your way is a lot more accurate though. I have never made a fuel meter as i don't see it being worth the trouble if i can get away with using a syringe, ...

For a start get rid of the spring, you don't need it. Your guess with the end of the barrel not being perfectly square to the sealing face would have to be my best guess as well, it is going to be difficult to rectify the problem if you can't get to the barrel end. It should also have a convex end a...

The main hurdle in getting airsoft into Australia is that the guns look too real, as such a kid with an airsoft pistol could be charged with having a imitation gun, as even something that looks like a gun can get you into trouble. I don't know how other toy gun makers get around this problem. About ...

Wow. Thanks for writing this all up. I have had the idea for a while of building a mini hybrid. This question has nothing to do with this topic but I don't want to start a new one. Can I use a syringe to meter in my propane for a hybrid?(like a combustion) Yes John you can use a syringe to fuel a H...

I use different hardness Poly for different applications http://www.erapol.com.au/# There is a link with more info. As for the white plastic it is Acetal, a hard plastic that is easy to machine. JSR went to a great deal of trouble making a tutorial for casting Epoxy, the same methods can be used to ...

Burns hey, reminds me of a time i was camping and tried to cool down some cans of drink with LPG. I dug a hole put the cans in upended a 3kg gas bottle and opened the valve, a big cloud of gas surrounded me and then a big ball of flames- happy days. I was burnt pretty bad on my arm and lower leg. Mu...
