Re: Golf ball cannon
Always glad to know I helped somebody build their cannon! The chamber design is eerily similar to Superna Looking good man, I bet it's a blast to shoot. Like BtB said though, you should have just placed the sprinkler valve directly behind the piston, for more efficiency and a quicker opening time.

Time for my yearly checkup as well (actually 4 months but hey, long enough), but I won't start my own thread because my life isn't as interesting as yours

Re: Recycling pilot volume
Redirecting it to the barrel would be a better idea. Opening up the pilot to the chamber would cause the valve to stay closed because a piston valve needs a high pressure differential to open. Routing the pilot volume to the barrel however might give the projectile a little push before the chamber v...

Sometimes you can actually buy a seamless nipple. It'll be way more expensive than a standard nipple though.

Re: Full Auto 50
Well if you have that adjustable pop-off valve, you should put it on and set the pressure higher, and you'll probably get some better damage. In the long run it'd probably look a lot better to use a compact QEV in place of the sprinkler valve. You might have to play with the valve to get it working ...

Re: Vaccum Motor Wiring?
Well good thing I have 3 other vacuum motors
It just sucks because this is the only one I had with 2 speeds, but I guess that can be solved with a speed controller on any one of the other motors.

I'll try that. If that is the problem though... there is no hopejrrdw wrote:Check for shorted stator windings by doing a continuity test between the wire lugs and stator shaft. There should be no continuity between the windings and shaft.

Re: Vaccum Motor Wiring?
No clue on the one terminal as I don"t know the original configuration. It could have been a ground lug used for a noise filter to prevent electrical noise and not part of the windings at all. The thing is it worked before. Then one day it just stopped working. Only the right terminal spins the mot...

Re: 1/2" copper barrel ammo
I like to take a nylon spacer and then insert a bolt that doesn't quite make it to the rear. The head of the bolt keeps the center of mass towards the front and also provides for a very blunt impact force. These rounds are reusable and fairly cheap (50c each). If you can find a spacer that fits in y...

Thanks Tech! Any idea why one terminal would just stop working though? The Right terminal works fine, but the middle doesn't run the motor.
