Ok ive just got back from getting the chamber and flanges welded up( pics to follow), looking in to the carriage system this afternoon but at this stage ill have to wait untill after xmas to sort the rest of the gas system etc, due to work ramping up to cover the xmas break

Ive got mates places I fire real guns on out to 1000m+, a spud gun wont be a prob lol

Just an update on how Im going: the barrel has arrived as well as the flanges. Ill be sorting out the gas input and ignition ports this weekend and hopefully organise with my mate to weld it up for me before Xmas. I the only reason Ive asked is because Im going to run a long reach plug 26mm(1.04") to try and over come the same problem from happening in the first place, But you can only get them in certain size threads IIRC 12 and 14mm maybe 16mm

just out of interest what thread is your spark plug? 10,12,14,16 or 18mm?
