The Sprinkler Valve is an ebook written by hubb017 of Spudfiles. It gives very detailed information on a sprinkler valve and several methods of modifications. It also has a trouble shooting guide as well as modifying a blowgun.

Introduction

This section of the book explains what a sprinkler valve is. It shows a sprinkler valve's anatomy and explains how they work so that one can get a better understanding of what exactly goes on with using a sprinkler valve.

Electronic Activation

Most sprinkler valves come standard with a solenoid. This section demonstrates how the solenoid can be used in a launcher to activate the sprinkler valve.

Basic Modification

This section gives the standard and most common method for modifying a sprinkler valve, both with and without a guide rod. It also introduced one to adding a safety to a modified sprinkler valve.

Replacing the Diaphragm

This section shows an advanced method to modifying a sprinkler valve. It essentially replaces the standard diaphragm with a new one, allowing the diaphragm to open slightly faster and further. This will increase the performance of a sprinkler valve.

Note: This method of modification was first introduced to me by a member of Spudfiles called noname. I take no credit for this modification.

Conversion to a Piston Valve

This is another method of advanced modification that produces better performance than Replacing the Diaphragm. This section demonstrates how to replace the original diaphragm with a piston.

The Anti-Siphon Sprinkler Valve

This section provides insight on another commonly used type of sprinkler valve; The anti-siphon valve. These types of valves are u-shaped in configuration. It provides detail on some modifications that can be performed on these valves, although the performance gains are going to be slight, especially compared to a standard sprinkler valve.

Modifying a Blowgun

A blowgun is the most common type of triggering system used on a sprinkler valve. Some people choose to modify a blowgun to enhance the valve's performance. This section shows just how to do that.

Troubleshooting

This section provides answers to the most common problems one will face while using a sprinkler valve.
