If this is the 1st time building a spud cannon, your at the right place.
Here you can learn simple concepts of cannon building. Learn mini cannon, combustion cannon and pneumatic cannon building. The building process for the 3 basic types of cannons is basically the same. You lay out the PVC pieces in the shape of the design you want and do a dry fit. Then use PVC Primer and Cement to solvent weld them together. Allow 24 hours for the primer and cement to cure and have fun!
Mini Cannon
The mini cannon is exactly that, mini. It fits in the palm of your hand. All you need is a pill bottle, (screw on or twist lock lid), ink pen or marker tube (insides removed) and a ignition source (piezo, bar-b-que grill igniter or a camera flash circuit).
Combustion Cannon
To build a combustion cannon you need a chamber, barrel, coupler, reducer bushing, clean out cap (PVC) Pressure Rated and a ignition source (piezo, bar-b-que grill igniter or a camera flash curcuit).
Pneumatic Cannon
To build a pneumatic cannon you need a chamber, barrel, 2 coupler's, reducer bushing, plug (PVC) Pressure Rated, shrader valve (for filling the chamber with air) and a air pump.
