9 March 2009 (jimmy101) Removed the statement "The particle speed of the gas is increased by the energy of combustion, which makes supersonic velocities much more attainable" from the definition for Hybrid. This is true for all combustion guns. The speed of sound in the chamber of a 1X gun is about 3X the speed of sound in air at normal temperatures, hence the speed of sound in the chamber is rarely a limiting factor in even a 1X gun.
