And for those who're interested in my new job....

...While it used to be that I helped running tests, I am now RUNNING the tests. Ever see the movie "Apollo 13"? Remember Ed Harris's character? That's me, albeit on a smaller scale.

What sort of tests? Well, here are some pics from the "last" test of my predecessor (Oh, and I'm the guy on the far left in the last pic).

Wait, wait, wait, wait...

Is that the 9000 FPS gun?

No, I don't deal with that gun anymore (that was part of the old job but is excluded from the new).

That's a Trident D5 first stage booster being tested.

I see. It's still pretty cool.

If you have the time, what can you tell us about the gun (I'm guessing) behind you?

Uh.... That's not a gun behind me.

That's a rocket motor behind me.

Specifically, it's a Trident II (D5) first stage sitting on it's side.

(Hmmmm... something seems very familiar about this post. ;) )

Yes, yes there is something familiar....could it be I just realised you told me this already but I read it too fast last night to comprehend it correctly?

Funny thing...I was just challenged to hit one mile height with a rocket in the next six months. I'll most likely post on here about it.
