That would probably work, probably what I will end up using(not the pipe part).

I could use a 2" tee, and sleeve 1.5" SDR 21 in 2" SCH80 and I wouldn't need the bushing on the barrel end of the tee?

How would you use the 1 1/4" pipe wrapped in duct tape, it would have a huge hole in it obviously as it is pipe. You could just use an 1 1/4" cap instead. The only way I see the sleeved 1.5" SDR 21 working is if you slip it past the end of the 2" Sch80, into the tee.

If my barrel is 1.5" SDR21 how would a 1.25" piston work if I have to have a bigger piston than barrel face?

Because 1 1/4" caps are not 1 1/4" OD, 1 1/4" PIPE fits inside of the 1 1/4" fittings, the fittings, are what fit inside of the 2" tee nicely, not the pipe.

Edit> Do not take my word that this would work, but I think it would, I am not an expert on piston valves, though.

We don't have flat faced caps, just plugs. And a plugs OD is the pipes ID. So do I have to make PVC discs?

Or does a rounded cap work (with some neoprene)?

It might, hold on I have an old link that has a pretty cool piston using a rounded cap and a rubber cap that goes on the end of pipes for resting on something.

Could I bondo the round end and make it a flat face?

Here is the link.

Do not build the cannon there though, its made of ABS. But the piston design is pretty cool.
All you would do is put the barrel though the bushing, put the rubber end cap on the end of the pipe, and a round cap can seal on it.

Here look at this diagram I made with Rmich filling it in. It is for a 3" tee but I think it should help you out.
