Size of barrel

Just starting to spud and wonder how long your barrel should be? Want to know how to build a better cannon? This is just the place! Hi, Ive got a 4" by 12 inch combustion chamber. I only have 2" pipe, what size should it be?

No, then you would have a 2:1 ratio, which is pretty poor for combustions.

If you are using propane or MAPP, its probably a good idea to have something around a .8:1 C:B. Therefore, a 5-foot barrel would serve you perfectly

However, if you are using hairspray or another aerosol, 1.5:1 C:B is a decent ratio
