To plug the holes, just screw in another screw with some thread locker/sealant.

I will plug the holes. I just wanted to make sure that it's a fuel problem and not a problem with the cannon istelf.

Ok, I tried some Zippo lighter fluid per bernstern's directions and I still can't get combustion. The electrode tips are about 1/4" apart and I'm getting a strong blue spark. Should I just go to the store and buy some Right Guard spray deodorant?

Lighter fluid sprays out in liquid form so you'd need to give it some time to evaporate. Also, right guard no longer gives the same combustion it used to, so I wouldn't use it.

Try a quick shot of starter fluid, or some lock de-icer.

You should also get a chamber fan.

Try spraying a second of hairspray (just to get it to shoot) and then blow a little into the chamber and put the lid on. Once you got hairspray to ignite you can move up to something else.

Thanks everyone for the responses. I got some new hairspray and also converted to the lantern sparker and the gun works flawlessly!

That's good! What kind of distance are you getting?

I didn't have a chance to measure- I got it working last night and just fired a potato into the woods...

I'll try again today in the light.
