Propane Meter

First time posting, but I've been thinking about building a combustion launcher for quite some time. I have a couple questions on building my propane meter, before I hook it up and something bursts and sprays liquid propane on me or something. Firstly, are the yellow coil hoses used on air compressors, like these http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/D ... mber=54075 , safe to attach directly to a 20 lb. bbq propane tank. It's rated to 200psi, so the things that I'm worried about is either the propane eating through the hose, or liquid propane coming up through the bottle and into the hose, and possibly destroying the hose.

Secondly, what is the difference between industrial and automotive quick disconnect couplings. Here is a picture of each. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/D ... mber=34705 http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/D ... mber=34702 . The first is industrial, while the second is automotive. I notice the ring on the tip of the automotive one is bigger, but I don't see how they are used differently. I just want to find out before I buy a handful of these and find out one is used differently than the other since they are not interchangeable (unless of course you buy the universal coupler).

Most hardware stores carry the normal "A" universal auto couplings. These work across the board, for me. Only problem I had was a friend's air compressor hooking up with leaks to my gun because his outlet was a push-to-connect coupling instead of sleeve-lock.

As for the hose, it'll work. I just wouldn't want 50 ft. of hose connected to my gun!
