Find an airsoft store nearby, see if they have a range or something like it, and ask if you can sweep up their used BBs. I've gotten several hundred thousand for free this way :D

Of course, don't use recycled BBs in an AEG... but for a BBMG they're fine.

I use popcorn kernels, there like $1 a bag but the range is not as good as bb's.

Fidgety the (second) simplest answer is buy in bulk. The more you buy the cheaper each individual BB is. If you can't afford to buy thousands yourself, then see if you can get together with others and buy one big bag between the lot of you. Then just weigh out your BBs on your mum's kitchen scales to divide them up.

well you see at only 6000 bbs for 15 usa dollars it would be pretty hard to acquire the hundreds of thousands i need. Then at 10,000 it costs 24 usa dollars. I have to ask myself am i really willing to pay that much for tiny plastic BBs?

With this you're getting roughly 850 BBs to the dollar... but those are .12s, which I can't stand. I've never tried using popcorn in a BBMG (I have with mortars, with acceptable results), but I imagine you'd get a lot of jams.

np0405- what barrel did you use? A standard airsoft barrel? The idea of popcorn as a BBMG ammo really intrigues me.

I was using the popcorn in a mortar not a BBMG, sorry for not specifying.
