Re: Single-pump handgun

It is possible to increase the output energy by at least 30%, because it is not very hard to compress, (about 9 - 10 kg), but since the objective is to mark the objective, only that, I have decided that the energy does not exceed that, and not too hard to compress, I mean comfortable to operate. Tha...

Re: Small semi automatic hybrid project

I share a home video of the firing test of the "LB - VI" semi-automatic pellet launcher. :) The bb's gas loading drive works perfectly, with the appropriate modifications that I invented for it. It fires 6.35mm steel bb`s, and can hold 11 in the ammunition tube. The feed works by gravity, and has 5....

Re: Benjamin Model 30/30 CO2 Carbine Repeater "Hot Shot"

I managed to source this capacitor locally: 270μF instead of the original 300μF but it seems to have done the trick ;D https://i.imgur.com/ThXUFgQ.jpg 270μF instead of the original 300μF but it seems to have done the trick ;D hurrah! https://youtu.be/9LjxU5QbVtE The capacitor came with a resistor be...

Re: preloaded pneumatic cartridge

Just a little preview of a cartridge I made to fit a 26.5mm flare gun, here is a rather loud first test with air only at 2500 psi: https://youtu.be/8jp6Ljt730Y (the noise you can hear at the end is the thousands of shattered pieces of cup flying around) Here is the mechanism approximately to scale, ...

Re: preloaded pneumatic cartridge

An empty CO2 capsule averages at around 30 grams, so muzzle energy for those first tests at 2500 psi was in the 45 ft lbs range. In the interest of ramping things up further, I "made" a better projectile by cutting down a 12g capsule to an inch in length, now weighing in at 10 grams: https://i.imgur...

High pressure 50cal rifle

I posted some time ago showcasing a high pressure 'Toolie' style valve I built out of stainless steel. This is the progression of that project. I'm sorry for making a new post, but I figured it'd be easier than modifying my old one. Feel free to move this if needed. shown below is the valve assembly...

Re: Mini Hybrid II

I made a 0.177" barrel attachment for this thing, at a 20x mix it was pushing 0.35 gram BBs to just over 1800 feet per second :D that's 39 ft lbs of energy! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=23-DWhJ0-MA The same barrel hooked up directly to the air cartridge at 2500 psi yielded 1143 fps, still impress...

Re: ammo hard solid with thermite tracer fuse and best feul

I appreciate your enthusiasm for spudguns, but I must warn you that your advice is very unsafe and irresponsible. Spudguns are not toys and should be treated with respect and caution. Using thermite, sparklers, or diesel fuel supplement can cause serious injury or death to yourself or others. You sh...

Re: Hammer & QEV Valve Questions

Hammer valve/ QEV combo is the way to go. The hammer and spring will allow you to adjust the power versus number of shots from a given tank depending on volume and pressure. Plus...The "clank" of a hammer gives it something extra. ;) A counter balanced hammervalve is more complicated to build ...alt...

Re: Hybrid velocity

A few thoughts in no particular order.... 1 - Post-combustion chemistry absolutely matters. It can drastically alter the local sonic velocity. 2 - Traditional powder-based guns can go much faster than OP's listed 5200 ft/s. I've personal experience with a gun that runs at 8,900 ft/s. 3 - I'm a bit b...

Re: Hybrid velocity

What are methods of passing beyond the local SOS? The previously mentioned exploitation of Maxwell-Boltzmann distributions. Highly inefficient and has it's own limitations. Not useful for much more than braggin' rights. I imagine things like raising temperature beyond that of standard combustion or...
