Re: Regarding the Legality of Hybrid Spud Guns in the USA
I almost blew my head off one time. I never considered the risk of it and no one ever mentioned it, but one day I walked out to the firing line to shoot a pistol and forgot to put my ear muffs on. So, I put them on with a LOADED PISTOL in my hand. I basically pointed a loaded gun at my own head whil...

Re: Regarding the Legality of Hybrid Spud Guns in the USA
Damn, that was lucky. I had a similar experience many years ago with an 8mm ball bearing that bounced back on a steel plate - though I was not struck, it did make a nice clean hole in what was then my bedroom window: https://www.spudfiles.com/download/file.php?id=4643&mode=view A foot or so to the ...

Re: Regarding the Legality of Hybrid Spud Guns in the USA
Don't beat yourself up over it. Bad things happen. That's why we try to be careful, but bad things still happen sometimes. We all have our stories and experiences. You shouldn't feel shame for what happened. It was an accident. They happen. Maybe try lead pellets instead? Steel tends to be pretty b...

Re: 30 bar 435psi pengun
Better answer late than never;) @TrollingCluckster good point, but really nothing will happen if it blows up in your hand. It's way too little volume and energy:) i'm sure @BartSkillZ The QEV is homemade, it's just a short piece of a solid 6mm alu rod with a piece of bicycle tube epoxied onto it as ...

Breech System For historical Pak 36
Hi everyone I introduce myself. My name is Alexy, I come from France. I am a student in an engineering school and passionate about history of the WWII. I have a project that has been going on for several years : make the most realistic German WWII Pak 36. To do this, I made CAD to make a breech load...

Re: Breech System For historical Pak 36
I will use the same principle as in this video. mixing takes place directly inside the combustion chamber. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JPSjwxvINF0&ab_channel=PerformanceCannons Step 1 : I put the gas 2nd step : compressed air for the rest yes I have the rest I am finishing the design. The .22 bl...

Re: Breech System For historical Pak 36
I used to fill my first hybrid by injecting the fuel into the bicycle pump (suction hole on top) with a big syringe while drawing the handle up, and continued to fill plain air to the desired pressure.
You'll need to seal that .22 if there is any pressure in the shell.

Re: Small semi automatic hybrid project
Thinking calm, about the possibility of the "automatic hybrid". The truth is, I only need to speed up the process of this semi-automatic prototype 10 or 15 times, which seems possible, although not very simple. This model, the current one, assuming that the piezoelectric spark plug is replaced by a ...

Re: Small semi automatic hybrid project
I made the video to share here. https://youtu.be/peIh7a-mK80 This is the trigger frequency I am looking for. Actually, speaking of the ignition, a commercial electronic spark plug could be used, fired at the right moment, by this same video mechanism. I used a modified model airplane servo motor and...

Re: Small semi automatic hybrid project
This is the trigger frequency I am looking for. Holy... eres un fenomeno Hector! I really like the electro-mechanical control :D Very promising! Too bad not being able to use a tank with the mixture formed, because in this way it would be firing automatically in two days, but it is not an option du...

Re: Crosman 1330 "Thumper" concept
Straaaange timing, both this post and me happening to check my "Spudfiles" label in gmail. The 1322 I want to "breathe on" is in the mail right now. (along with a steel breech and longer barrel) I still have to source the 1389 pump handle for a "1389 clone" (which was difficult in 2008, I can't even...

Re: Crosman 1330 "Thumper" concept
It is an upgrade that uses a piston valve and not the hammer system, is what I understand. I really like that weapon and I had planned to buy it but they don't exist around here, at least for a long time, when I had the intention of doing so. A question that is interesting, to improve these weapons ...

Re: Need help
Second here for using a burst disk and syringe metering. In terms of complexity, the next step up from that would probably be manometric (using chamber pressure to measure fuel and air) fueling. The type of fueling SB15 uses on his cannons is volumetric ("air through meter" design which is pretty ac...
