if you wanted to keep them from sticking, you could just coat them in flour...

I'd think they would slide, but this would help. I am worried about them breaking in the barrel.

Cut the top off a game-load shotgun shell (don't worry-the powder is seperated by a peice of plastic) and get the BBs out (they're smaller than regular BBs). Put cotton in the end of a 1/2 (0r 3/4) barrel and pour BBs on top. Nice spread pattern.

BIG vegatables will fit in ofcourse, but may be expensive.
Ice would be the cheapest option (ice always is) but it might freeze the pvc, making it brittle. A pvc cannon with ice in the barrel is not safe.
You could try wadded ice, so its a bit insulated.

Softballs fit perfectly in 4" SCH 40 PVC. I was thinking of making a softball launcher myself with some extra pipe I got lying around...

Alright. Thanks STHORNE. I think I have a one, or if not, more than a couple softballs. Let's hope I didn't put them in the garage sale bins. So...be expecting a monstrous cannon from me soon...pneumatic, that is...

why do people wrap duck tape round there ammo what good can it do??

i like spuds its easy to make good range just some times it insinuates in my barrel lmfao.

also about 4 paintballs with wastepaper behind it to stop the paint balls just blowing up in your barrel.

i don`t think its safe to use any solid ammo you never know who might be on the other side of a tree or wall.

It's people like you who bring disgrace to our hobby. If you don't know what you're shooting at, you shouldn't be shooting at all. If you do know exactly what is downrange, firing a hardened steel dart (lethal) isn't any worse than firing a potato (also lethal, out of any worthwhile launcher).

Also, I'm not sure what your first language is, but in English, we capitalise the word "I", and have these interesting things called "punctuation marks" that you should probably aquaint yourself with.

Haven't read all 12 pg.s here, but I was eating watermelon and tried shooting the green rind part.

It sealed and shot very similar to a spud, but is cheaper and more plentiful (they're waste anyway).
One shot so loud I had to go inside and quit shooting for the day!

I am wondering about shooting wet gummi bears or gummi worms.
I wonder if they will stick to objects far away or high up? 8)

I've been toying with an idea for a paintball tank round, and not the grape shot in a sabot style, I'm talking a paint filled slug. I've come up with two options for the outer shell;

One would be formed from soft rubber or latex, moulded into a slug shape, then filled with paint. It would involve making a mould that would be put into a rotocaster, then filled with paint via a syringe.

The other option would be to mix up a thick mixture of gelatin, something like Certo jelly, and rotocasting that. Problem is that I'm not sure if it will set hard enough to hold it's shape, never mind being fired out of a spud gun. This option is biodegradable, unlike the latex, but might not be a strong.
