hehehe, soon enough they will be sold on my site, once i perfect the mold and the machine ive built for it. I dont want to sell the primitave slugs shown here since they are a pain in the butt to mold, and are too inconsistant in size and molded quality.
id like to have a seperate mold made for cylinder type slugs that would have the same shape of the ones shown above but wouldnt show any ripples or flow lines.

The mold im currently working on is for a rifled bullet that will be much more accurate than these slugs, and a cheaper alternative to a rifled barrel.

oh, btw, when i hit the chevy tailgate and the dodge neon i was 40 feet away and the slugs made tear in the steel every hit where it impacted, most of the time the slugs hit dead on with little tumble suprisingly. Ive been shooting the white one on the far left for the past few days now and ive come to the conclusion that you cannot deform this type of plastic by using plywood as a target. The solid plastic holds a higher tensile strength than Advantec plywood. Im really anxious to test out the rifled bullet since the tip will be pointed

By "rifled slug", do you by any chance mean in the same way that certain shotgun slugs are?
Because that doesn't help accuracy at all - it's actually so that you can use them in a shotgun that has a choke without damaging the firearm.

...you might try making the end of the projectile hollow, a bit like a wine bottle. This would make the end lighter, and provide some degree of aerodynamic stability. (pulls out COM-P)
...and it ends up not working very well... requires very big removals for even small COM movments - Scrap that idea.

Sometime (probably Thursday), I'll do some number crunching and find out how fast these projectiles would have to be going to fail on collision with a unyielding object (rock, engine block)
This velocity will be the same for all projectiles made of that material, and thus will be a useful number.

did the slugs crack or explode when they hit? And for a 2 inch barrel, you could use 1 1/2 inch sch 40,put it in the molding machine standing up after cutting it into smaller pieces.then fill it with or feed the molten plastic into the 1 /12 inch pvc.wouldent this make the outsides smoother?the 1 1/2 inch sch 40 fits almost perfectly into a 2 inch sch 40 barrel.

I'd be happy to record some pretty high-res video clips of blasting those things into all sorts of metal and wood targets. How much would it cost to ship 10 of them to Seattle, WA? Try zip 98029 (not my actual zip but close).

Peace,
Pete Zaria.

my cousin works in a machine shop and made me some using a cnc lathe they turned out perfectly smooth and bullet shaped with none of the surface imperfections that casting gives you

not yet, however i might be able to acquire an automatic molding machine for real cheap, this would be used to make hundreds of small bore ammo like slugs, bullets and balls
actually BC Pneumatics got three of the slugs in the mail and tested them with a good report, impossible to break these slugs off wood guys
tested with his burst disc cannon and two of my propane cannons

Well i got bored the other day and while i was purging hot plastic from the machine i realized i could use this molten plastic to make ammo rather quickly by hand.

so while i was making some stuff out of grey nylon i decided to make some slugs, check it out they almost weigh 1/8 of a lb

i nailed a car in a junkyard the other day with one, it went straight through the windshield, AND the back window of an old f-150

What a generic bot-like reply, with an unlikely nickname for what is essentially a boy's toys forum

JSR, I think Mike is warming up to the injection molding idea, no pun intended. We can do molds, its the injecion machine we are going to have to deal with.
