Two satge round

I keep coming up with crazy ideas eh,

look what iamb think is a two stage round, the first stage will be a round firing out of a cannon , the second stage will be a sparkler rocket firing continuing its flight .

The idea is that if i could time when the sparkler rocket would go off when the projectile is still traveling upwards

now this concept is very shakey ,
problem No.1 Timing. timing is going to very difficult in the rounds second stage firing, the round will need a fuse that will ignite the sparklers at the right moment so that the projectile will achieve higher height.

Problem No.2 Premature Ignition. Premature ignition is a concern cause i don't want the hair spray to ignite before im ready to fire cause of the sparkler fuse.

. Im going to solve the premature ignition problem by cutting out a foam spacer so that the gases can't get to the sparkler , or i can use a piece of textile.

the timing situation is going to be a tough one, i will guesss around 12 seconds for the fuse , that 12 seconds will allow me to insert the round down the tube, place the piece of textile at the back, spray, screw back lid on and then wait and fire.

another person will be timing so that i know when to fire , i will fire about when the fuse goes to 1 or zero cause it takes least a second or to two for the rocket to start up and burn.

Im only looking to achieve for distance/height out of my projectile , not any incendiary uses .

The casing for the sparkler will be a silican tube, the sparkler rocket will be glue / secured into place and will act as a nose cone.

the tube wil also have a tube fin for stabillity and the sparkler rocket will add more stabillity cause since the sparkler is at the front ,the Cg will be far enough in front of the cp, i will swing test it before launch to roughly test wether is air worthy or not.

Sounds like a pretty good idea. I think it would work but i wouldn't want to go through all that just to get a little extra distance. But depending on the size of your rocket and how good your timing is you could get some serious distance. Good luck.

Bloody hell, breaking the rules with something so useless man? Sparkler rockets are rubbish..

The mass that the fuel adds (and takes away from the cannon) does not equal the energy released from the fuel.

I have used a large air cannon to air lift shells, but that's not for discussion here..
